The GRID is a student-driven space-borne project with the goal to detect gamma-ray transients in the energy range of 10 keV to 2 MeV. GRID is composed of a constellation of CubeSats (with an all-sky coverage) deployed in low earth orbit.
The scientific motivation(s) of GRID are:
Detection of gamma-rays associated with GW events
Network based GRB monitor (general purpose analyses)
Search/identification of Magnetars
TGFs
Training students how to develop, lead and organize within collaboration
